[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]

Name: Momo
Age: Early to mid-twenties (Her exact age is never specified in canon; She'd have to be at least in her mid to late teens when she's first introduced, and her appearance doesn't noticeably change when at least five years pass between sections of the game)
Gender: Female
Fandom: Breath of Fire III
Timeline: Shortly after the end of the game.
History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breath_of_Fire_III

Character Personality:Momo's most noticeable trait is her interest in machines. She loves using them, figuring out how they work, and repairing and improving them. Since her father was an excellent engineer as well, she became interested in them and began to study them at a young age. Indeed, it's difficult to tell if she idolizes her father because she loves machines so much, or if she became interested in machines because she idolized her father. But it's certain that she respects her father's work and ability as an engineer greatly, and that she tries hard to be worthy of following in her father's footsteps. Her mother, on the other hand, she never really seems to think about at all, and since we do find out in the course of the game that her mother's dead, it's likely that her mother died when she was very young.

Momo gets very focused when working on machines or experimenting with something, tuning the rest of the world out enough that it can take a while for things to sink in, like a friend she thought died years ago returning. She gets very excited if it looks like she'll get a chance to learn more about machines she's not familiar with yet, even to the point of ignoring other concerns. When she gets an idea, she can be very quick to put it into action without entirely thinking through the possible consequences or checking for instructions, like when she fired at the Black Ship or when she used her dad's escape rocket without reading the manual first. But she tends to be very easy-going if her ideas go wrong as long as no one gets seriously hurt, perhaps because she's used to the minor explosions her experiments sometimes cause.

Because she's lived a rather isolated life, she's rather awkward when it comes to dealing with people. She's not unfriendly by nature, but she generally doesn't seek out others' company for no reason. She does have something of a grasp on what proper manners are, but they tend to fly out the window if she gets worked up about something. Momo also tends to feel uncomfortable when things turn to more philosophical topics like the nature of god and the fate of the world, feeling more comfortable with things she can touch like machines. But she does have a willingness to help others with her knowledge of machines, and a desire to see others' lives improve. She even feels sympathy for a mutated plant they're sent to destroy when she finds out it's intelligent. Finally, the things Momo finds cute are a bit odd. They include a large mutated onion and a manticore.

Character Abilities: Momo is extremely intelligent and has extensive knowledge about the chrysm-powered machines native to her home world. Since her father's death, she's been the foremost expert on the subject. She is also good at solving problems and puzzles in general. A good portion of her work involves reverse engineering broken machines that wash up on the northern shore of her home continent, so she'd be better than most at figuring out how technology she's not familiar with works. She knows how to shoot the chrysm-powered bazooka she carries around, even if her aim could use a little work.

Momo has access to magic in her own world as well. She knows several support spells (ones that gather information about enemies, inflict status effects, or increase the stats of members of her party), a good selection of healing spells (including a multi-target one and one that will restore those that have fallen in battle), and a couple of potent earth-based attack spells, one of which causes an earthquake while the other one causes a comet to drop from the heavens.

Character Weaknesses: Momo tends to be a little awkward when dealing with social situations, since she's spent a lot of her life in the company of machines instead of people. She thinks aloud a lot, she rarely keeps how she feels from what she says, even when it would be better that she did, and she can come off as arrogant with the way she praises her father's (and consequently her own) ability with machines. She can be distracted rather easily by technology she's never encountered before, wanting to stop what she's doing to investigate it and figure out how it works. Also, she is noticeably less accurate with her bazooka than her other party members are with their weapons.

Momo was shaken when she discovered in the course of her adventures with her friends that her father had worked on a machine to revive the dead, in hopes of bringing back her dead mother. While she found it reassuring that in the end her father didn't go through with trying to use the machine for that purpose and turned his attention to researching other things that would benefit others, she idolizes her father so much that anything that tarnishes her memories of him would hit her especially hard.

[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Weapon: Momo's connection to the technology she uses, including her bazooka, is very personal. It all stems from the research her father did and she inherited and continued. While she upgrades the ammo the bazooka uses over the course of the game, she always wields the same weapon she started with and has used for many years. She wouldn't be comfortable using a weapon that wasn't technologically advanced, and that she didn't know the workings of inside and out.

Also, Ryu, the main character, can form hybrid dragon forms with other members of his party, including Momo. While the other hybrid forms reflect physical attributes of the character Ryu forms the hybrid with, his form when he becomes a hybrid with Momo is that of a mechanical dragon, reflecting that machinery is part of Momo's essential nature.

What is your character's Weapon form?: As a Weapon, Momo looks exactly like what she wielded in her own world - a segmented black bazooka with gold and green bands of trim where the segments connect and at the butt of the gun. This is a reflection of her own familiarity with it and her interest in the chrysm-powered machines of her own world.

In her Weapon form she has the following special abilities:

Sleep Bomb - This shot trails a thin line of smoke before bursting at the feet of the targeted enemy, releasing a burst of knock out gas that renders them unconscious for a short time. The more powerful an enemy is, the less likely this attack is to be effective, and those rendered unconscious by it will wake up if they are attacked again or otherwise roughly handled.

Quake Blast - This shot slams powerfully into the ground, shaking up chunks of earth and dust that strike enemies within a 10 foot radius of where the blast hits. It also shakes the ground hard enough that enemies might loose their footing.

Healing Burst - This shot is fired up into the air and bursts into trails of green sparks that strike and are absorbed by the target(s). Anyone within 30 feet can be targeted, and up to three people can be targeted. It will heal up to minor wounds if used on three targets, up to moderate wounds if used on two targets, or a serious wound if used on one target. Using this ability is taxing on both Momo and the Meister wielding her.

[ SAMPLES ]

First Person: [The video feed turns on to show... a close-up view of someone's lap. Apparently it got turned on accidentally. Someone muttering to themselves can be heard from off-screen.]

...Absolutely fascinating device. I'd love to take it apart.

[The view on the screen spins around as the device gets moved to sit right-side up on the lap of a young red-headed woman with... dog ears?... and a slightly surprised expression.]

Oh, it's on already! Well, my name is Momo, and I just arrived here. I was hoping that others here could tell me more about the city, and the forces that threaten it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

[With a sincere smile, she shuts off the feed.]

Third Person: After the final battle against Myria, what remained of the little group who had searched for the goddess ended up scattering to pursue their own interests again. Ryu had decided to stay in Dragnier, at least for a time, to learn more about his heritage and how to control his great power. Rei had set off on a journey of his own, trying to find any remnant of his own people that might exist beyond the lands they knew. Nina returned to Wyndia Castle, ready to face the consequences of her hasty departure.

And Momo? Momo had returned to the tower she called home, bringing with her as much of the advanced technology she'd encountered on the other continent as she could to study. But while she was currently in her workroom, with Honey busily cleaning over in a corner, the parts she had brought back weren't the current focus of her attention. No, she was working on plans for an expedition back to the other continent to bring back more machines to study.

If she'd learned anything on her travels with Ryu, it was that machines could be used for good or ill depending on who was using them. But with Myria gone, they were all responsible for keeping the world safe. And the best way she could help with that was to continue to figure out all of the old technology that she could, but also teach others how to use technology for the right purpose - to help make life better for them all.

That was why she was breaking her routine of self-isolation to bring in others to work with her and learn. Now that the plant was shut down due to the results of Dr. Pallet's dangerous obsession, she thought she could recruit some of the brighter people who had worked there for this project. She was in deep concentration over the plans she was making when she started feeling a half-familiar sense of dislocation, almost but not quite like what happened when traveling using the portal system. Broken out of her thoughts, she looked up with a startled "Wha-?!" as her familiar workroom faded to be replaced by a different set of surroundings.

Looking around the dark room she found herself in as best she could, the only thing she could think upon seeing the massive statues chained together was that this place was even creepier than some of the places she'd traveled through with Ryu and the others. She shivered a little, both from the coldness of the room and the lack of the familiar weight of her telescoping bazooka by her side. How was she brought here? There didn't seem to be any sort of portal device in the room from what she could see. An odd unfamiliar noise caught her attention, and she turns to see three... patches in the air flicker to life with light and color. Wondering how such a feat was accomplished, she turned her attention to what the red-haired man shown was saying.

[ NOTES ]
Momo's world is home to various clans and tribes of animal-based humanoids, one of which she belongs to. She's a member of the Grassrunner clan, which is based off of dogs. She looks mostly human other than her prominent dog ears and her dog-like nose. She may also have a tail under the bulky scholar's robes she wears.
